Side Effects:

Bupleurum should not be used during pregnancy and if you are undergoing interferon therapy for hepatitis, or taking antibiotics. Take the tea with food.

2- Chrysanthemum flower, Mums, Chrysanthemum morifolium, or Chu Hua

A flower belonging to Compositae sunflower (Asteranceae) family. It contains many important constituents as ascorbic acid, beta carotene, calcium, fiber, folacin, iron, magnesium, niacin, potassium, riboflavin, and essential oils.

Chrysanthemum has an ancient reputation in the East as a medicinal plant. It is used in Chinese medicine in prescriptions for colds, headache, inflamed eyes, swelling and pain in the throat, vertigo, tinnitus, sores such as boils, and tightness of the chest with anxiety. Chrysanthemum flowers soaked in rice wine are a historical restorative drink.

Preparations:

It is prepared like tea, steep the flowers gently in hot water for no more than 10 minutes in a closed vessel, to preserve the essential oil. Powder may be taken in capsule form. Chu Hua, or mums is known to be anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, aromatic, demulcent, hepatic, hypotensive (for treatment of hypertension), febrifuge, and refrigerant.

3- Flesh finger citrus fruit, or Fou Shou

It is a shrub indigenous to China, and northeastern India, with irregular long branches. The flesh finger citrus fruit is characterized by a citron fragrant odor and segments looking like fingers. Fou Shou is an additive herbal used within herbal formulas of hepatitis for its distinctive fragrant odor that increases the overall palatability of the herbal formula.
